I'm looking for a replacement set of front shocks for my 1989 corolla all trac. Can't seem to find what I'm looking for, Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Fred

Check to see if the front strut looks like you it has a large nut at the top of the strut body. If it does, you can remove the strut insert from the housing and replace it.

This is from a Celica, but you can see the large nut at the top of the strut body.

Yep, looks like I have that similar "housing" I see now that they are "serviceable" struts. They are $21 ea. on rockauto.com Thank you!!

You need to peek up in the spring and check that nut. The top mount has always been removable from the strut start, but that doesn't mean the insert can be removed from the housing.

If yours are not serviceable and don't have the nut, usually you can use a tube cutter and open the strut and there is still a serviceable insert. You can buy a "replacement" section of tube with the nut assembly and weld them together. This is what Celica owners would have to do on the rear struts. The fronts are serviceable, but the rears had to be cut open.
