The 050 is discontinued, but there was a member selling chrome ones a while back. You might be able to find the thread on here. I'll sell mine someday, but only when I am ready to upgrade to something else.

18s look fine on our cars if the car is lowered right. Some people think they are too big, but they also think 16s is going large.

hey cms, i have sold my jeep and now am seriously going to buy wheels and tires. quick question is- running xxr 502 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 what tire size would you recommend? i'm thinking 245/35/18 up front, and 255/35/18 in the rear. and with this will i need spacers? the offset on these wheels is 35.

I honestly do not know tire sizes for staggered. I would look at Pat C's tire sizes he ran on his 18s to be safe. Simba also runs staggered 18s, and so does that st205 I posted. You can use the tire calculator to see if your sizes are close enough.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Be sure and post lots of pics if you do it.

There is still a good chance you will need a rear 20-25mm spacer. It might be best to get the wheels, and test fit the rear, then you can decide how much spacer you want to run.

The calculator says this setup will run about 1mm further out then a 9" wide wheel at 30et when using a 25mm spacer.
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Remember you will also need to roll your rear fenders, and the car will look like a monster truck 4x4 unless you lower it.

alright yeah that sounds like a good plan. and i know. my car looks like a monster truck right now, so i definitely have plans of getting coilovers and dropping it a few inches. queston is which to get... toss up between ksports and bc racing.

okay, i think i've decided. i don't wanna do staggered cause its just to much of a pain in the ass. for not much gain. so, if i dare say, i think i'm gonna try to make 18x9.5 fit all around with 255's. i know this was advised against, but i'm willing to work with it. am i just in for hell?

What wheel are you thinking? You might consider using the 245, then again the 255 might stretch some as well.

Pat runs a 245 on a 9" wheel w/ 25et for the front. If the offset calculator is right, then a 32et 9.5" wheel will have the same inner clearance as my 38et 9" wheel and only be outboard a couple more mm then a 30et 9" wheel.

The tire size may be what causes any clearance issue, but it might be stretched enough to be fine.

Good luck.

i was thinking about running the XXR 502 staggered 9.5 and 8.5, but it seems a lot more simple to just run same size all around. and like you said, i think with the same size tires as your running i shouldn't have anymore issue's with the wheel being .5in wider. anyways, i'll look into it some more and hopefully be able to have some pictures up soon instead of all this talk. btw-255 on a 9.5 isn't going to be streached to much will it?

what wheel width and offsets would give you flush in the front and the back?

17x8 et35 in the front?
17x9 et35 in the rear?

i'm not sure man. i'll be showing you all what 18x9.5 looks all around here soon. what seems like a perfect set up would be 9 width all around with the perfect offsets so you'd acheive a staggered look just with offset. so you would have more wheel on the outside of your hub in the rear and more wheel on the inside up front. what these offsets would be i have no idea. i also know it would take plenty of $$$. so i just went with the cheaper option. lol

Ok I didn't want to start a new thread concerning the 5x100 to 5x114.3 lug conversion just to ask this one question but has anyone ever considered simply drilling new holes in the existing hub for the new bolt pattern. I have not taken measurements to see if the pattern would fit but I believe it is a possibility am I correct?

Not on the fronts, there is not enough material on the diameter of the hub to do it safely.
